The national general elections (NGE) is a formal democratic process through which registered Solomon Islands voters choose an individual from among a list of registered candidates to represent them in the country’s national legislature, the National Parliament of Solomon Islands.

Activities that are part of the electoral process leading up to and during the conduct of Elections are announced by the SIEC before they take place.

The SIEC also engages in public awareness programs that highlight Election offences before Elections and voting begin to ensure that intending voters and candidates are aware of these offences before voting starts on Election Day.
